FieldProof

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-06-22 Last updated: 2026-06-22

This Privacy Policy explains how FieldProof (“FieldProof”, “the app”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your information. FieldProof is a local-first photo proof report tool for repairs, cleaning, inspections, handovers, and other field work. The app is published by Frei, an individual developer.

By downloading or using FieldProof, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Summary

  • Your content stays on your device. Reports, photos, signatures, and settings are stored only in the app’s private storage on your device. We do not have a server and we do not upload, collect, or have access to this content.
  • We do not run ads, analytics, or crash-reporting that sends your data off the device.
  • The only data that leaves your device is for purchases. If you buy a subscription or the Lifetime Local option, purchase processing is handled by Apple, Google, and our subscription provider RevenueCat. This is described in Section 4.

2. Information stored locally on your device

All of the following is created by you and stored only on your device, inside the app’s private sandbox that other apps cannot read:

  • Reports — text you enter, such as report title, subject/location, contact name, inspector name, notes, issues, and completion status.
  • Photos — images you capture with the camera or import from your photo library.
  • Signatures — handwritten signature images and signer name/role you add.
  • Settings — your default inspector name, company name and logo (if you add one), and language preference.

We cannot see, retrieve, or restore this data. It never reaches a server controlled by us, because we do not operate one.

3. Information we do NOT collect

FieldProof does not collect or transmit:

  • Your reports, photos, or signatures.
  • Your name, email, contacts, or address book.
  • Your precise or approximate location.
  • Microphone or audio data.
  • Advertising identifiers, and we do not use your data for advertising.
  • Usage analytics or behavioral tracking sent to us or any analytics provider.
  • Crash or diagnostic reports sent to us or any third party.

The app contains internal logging that only prints to a developer console during development builds. It is not active in the released app and never leaves your device.

4. Third-party services used for purchases

FieldProof offers an optional paid upgrade (FieldProof Pro). If — and only if — you make a purchase or restore a previous purchase, the following third parties are involved. We do not use these services for anything other than processing and validating purchases.

4.1 Apple App Store / Google Play

When you buy a subscription or the Lifetime Local option, the transaction is processed by Apple (on iOS) or Google (on Android). Your payment method and billing details are handled entirely by them; we never see your card or payment information. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies:

4.2 RevenueCat (subscription management)

We use RevenueCat to validate receipts and keep track of whether your Pro entitlement is active. To do this, the RevenueCat SDK may process:

  • An anonymous app user identifier generated for your install.
  • Purchase/receipt information and subscription status.
  • Basic device and platform information (e.g., device model, OS version, app version) and IP address used at the time of a request.

This data is used solely to determine and restore your purchase entitlement. It is not linked to your reports, photos, or signatures, and it is not used to track you across other apps or websites. RevenueCat’s privacy policy is available at: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/

If you never make a purchase, this purchase-related processing still requires occasional entitlement checks via RevenueCat to confirm you are on the Free plan.

5. Permissions

FieldProof requests the following device permissions, only when you first use the related feature:

PermissionWhy it is used
CameraTo take Before/After and other report photos.
Photo Library (read)To import existing photos into a report.
Photo Library / Storage (write)To save an exported report (PDF or long image) or photos to your device when you choose to.

You can decline or revoke these permissions in your device settings. If you decline the camera permission, you can still import photos from your library.

6. Sharing reports

When you tap Share, FieldProof uses the standard iOS/Android system share sheet to send a PDF or image directly from your device to a destination you choose (for example email, a messaging app, or cloud storage). The file goes straight from your device to that destination. FieldProof does not route the file through any server of ours, and we do not see or record where you share it.

7. Data retention and deletion

  • Your content remains on your device until you delete it.
  • Deleting a report in the app permanently removes that report’s data and files from your device.
  • Uninstalling FieldProof removes all of the app’s local data from your device.
  • Because there is no cloud backup, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone by us. Please export important reports before deleting or switching devices.
  • Purchase records held by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat are retained according to their respective policies and are outside our control.

8. Local data risk notice

FieldProof stores reports, photos, and signatures locally on your device by default. Uninstalling the app, clearing app data, or switching devices may remove this data. We have no way to recover it. Please export important reports regularly.

9. International users

FieldProof is available in multiple languages and regions. Your content does not leave your device. Purchase-related data described in Section 4 may be processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat on servers located in countries other than your own, under their respective privacy policies.

10. Your rights

Because your reports, photos, and signatures never leave your device, you control them directly: you can view, edit, export, or permanently delete them at any time within the app, and uninstalling removes all local data. We hold no copy and cannot access this content.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. The limited purchase-related data described in Section 4 is processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat; requests concerning that data can be directed to those providers under their policies, or to us at the contact below and we will assist where we can. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

11. Children’s privacy

FieldProof is a professional tool intended for work use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The current version is always available at the URL where this document is hosted. Significant changes will be noted in the app store release notes.
